Central England Academy Trust (CEAT) offers a comprehensive in-house training programme which is closely linked to school priorities. In addition there are currently 10 working groups covering initiatives such as mental health, protective behaviours and TA development. There is also a rolling programme supporting staff develop their own practice and a comprehensive NQT training package.

It really matters to CEAT that staff are able to develop in their roles and therefore succession planning is taken very seriously. CEAT has a great belief in growing its own staff and to this end staff are encouraged to undertake further studies. A number of staff are currently working towards National Professional Qualifications (NPQML/SL/EL) and also nationally recognised level 2 courses through North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.

Central England Academy Trust has a Staff Wellbeing Policy which encourages staff to be mindful of the importance of having a work life balance/fulfilment. CEAT understands the importance of supporting the wellbeing of staff and is a member of the Employee Assistance Programme where staff are able to access a number of services to support their wellbeing and welfare. Where at all possible CEAT will support staff with matters related to family circumstances. Furthermore there is a thriving Fundraising Committee which supports numerous events throughout the academic year including staff social events.

In an age where there are increasing demands on classroom staff it really matters to CEAT that staff feel looked after and that they are actively listened to. Staff questionnaires go out biannually and all comments are taken seriously and are followed up by a member of the senior leadership team.
